VIVIEN ATKINSON Golden Little Golden Book
Vintage Little Golden Book (Old MacDonald), imitation gold leaf, gold size.

Golden memories. Little Golden Books were founded in America in 1942 to provide affordable access to colourful story books for children (big print runs meant they could be sold for just 25 cents each). The Poky Little Puppy was one of the original group published and one of the first books given to me as a child and it was my very favourite. I kept it and it became a favourite of my children too. It just felt right to reflect on the precious moments reading, and especially reading to children creates by gold leafing one of these iconic books - just wish I could have afforded real gold leaf.
