The choice of a Latin title for this work comes from a search of a Musical dictionary and if used in a musical score,would indicate that the performer can play how it pleases them. This work is both jewellery and a musical instrument made specifically at the request of Kristen d’Agostino who curated a number of such pieces for the performance of Opera of Objectsat two venues in Australia. To watch one of these performances, you can see it here - the necklace is used after minute 45. The brief – to make a necklace that would be ‘self-sounding’. Opera of Objects was created and performed by Eric Griswold, Catherine Millikin, Craig Foltz and Vanessa Tomlinsen. A bene pacitawas ‘played’ and worn by Vanessa Tomlinsen.
